The VanAllen family sits on my mother’s side of the family. My great-great grandmother was Sarah VanAllen (1839-1905). She was the daughter of Isaac VanAllen and Anna Maria Weeger, both descendants of United Empire Loyalists. Jacob VanAllen, Loyalist to the British monarchy, was among those displaced after the American Revolution.
