My Gillespie family begins with my mother, Mary AUDREY Gillespie (1926-1997). She was the daughter of Douglas Barwick Gillespie (1897-1976) and Marion Henrietta Beckstead (1899-1986). My mother, grandfather and great-grandfather, James Frederick Gillespie (1863-1954) were all born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. EARLIEST known Gillespie in my line is James Frederick Gillespie (1831-1880). Some records suggest his origin was Ireland.
